Caerleon Sports Round-up


Sorry it is a bit late but another busy weekend for me.
Friday saw the second round of the cup but with the extra bank holiday many games were conceded. There is also three matches arranged for next week. Caldicot won at Beechwood, Beaufort won at Bedwellty, Pontypool Girlings beat Blaina, Llanhilleth beat Belle Vue, Croesyceiliog beat New Tredegar and Panteg House won at Machen.
The third round draw is on the website with a few either / ors.
Saturday saw the MBA leagues resume.
 
MBA1
Croesyceiliog stay top after a convincing 14-0 win over current champions RTB. Crosskeys move up to third after winning 14-0 at Blackwood. Bedwas & Trethomas are fourth after a 12-2 win over Pontymister Athletic.
 
MBA2
Pontnewydd retu to the top after beating Newbridge 12-2, Cwmbran move up to third after a 14-0 win at Pontypool. Brynmawr are up to fifth after a
12-2 win over Abertillery.
 
MBA3
Rhymney Royal stay top despite a day off with Bedwellty second after winning 12-2 at Panteg House. Blaina are third after beating Six Bells 12-2. New Tredegar are up to fourth after winning 14-0 at Aberca.
 
MBA4
In form Blaenavon are table toppers after a 12-2 win at Panteg Park. Whiteheads are second after beating Caerleon 12-2. Pontymister Welfare are third following their 11-3 win at Ynysddu.
 
MBA5
The only result I have sees Newport Athletic top the table after beating Gadiffaith 12-2.
 
GBL1
RTB remain top despite going down 11-1 at Newbridge, Bedwas move up to second after a 12-0 win at Pontymister Welfare. Pontymister Athletic are up to fourth after beating Croesyceiliog 10-2 and Aberca won 10-2 at Crickhowell to move out of the relegation zone.
 
GBL2
Monmouth beat Blaina 10-2 and Bedwellty beat Caldicot 10-2 so very little movement in this division.
 
GBL3
Whiteheads move to the top after winning 7-0 at Belle Vue with Pontypool up to third after beating Bailey Park 5-2.
