Weekly Roundup from M.B.A. League Secretary Peter Williams

W.B.A. National Competitions
Firstly I must congratulate the Beaufort rink of Danny Davies, Roger Jones, Daniel Davies Jnr. and Chris Klefenz on winning the Welsh Fours championship in Llandrindod.

M.B.A. Division 1
Despite having the magnificent four at Llandrindod Beaufort defeated Cwmbran 14-0 to keep alive their slim hopes of the title. R.T.B. beat Machen 12-2 in the battle of the Welsh semi finalists. I haven't had results from the other two matches but I heard Crosskeys won 10-4 and Chepstow had 12 at Pontymister Athletic.

M.B.A. Division 2
Blackwood have taken control of this division with 13 at Abertillery on Thursday followed by another 10 at Abergavenny today. Newbridge stay in contention with 12 against Caldicot and Bedwellty took 12 in the local derby at Rhymney Gwent.

M.B.A. Division 3
On a horrible afternoon in the county weather wise, Brynmawr v Blaenavon was one of the abandoned games. Blaina and Pontypool Girlings both took advantage at the top with fine wins while six Bells beat the royal in a tight fought game.

M.B.A. Division 4
The games at Abercarn and Llanwern were also abandoned while Pontnewydd won at Oakdale to extend their lead. Not heard from Panteg House?

M.B.A. Division 5
The games at Whiteheads and Firbank were both abandoned and I haven't heard from Monmouth.

M.B.A. Division 6
Ynysddu had another 14 to seal promotion and only require one more win to be champions. Gilwern also won to keep alive their promotion drive.

G.B.L. Division 1
The only results I have saw wins for Chepstow and R.T.B.

G.B.L. Division 2
Croesyceiliog won 12-0 to close in on the leaders while Rogerstone also won to pick up 10 points.
