Carruther's Shield Quarter Finals
Firstly a massive congratulations to R.T.B. Ebbw Vale and Machen who both won their Welsh quarter finals away from home. Good luck in the semi final guys, let's make it an all Monmouthshire final.
M.B.A. Division 1
Two very close games ended with vital wins for Crosskeys and Bedwas, the relegation battle will be very interesting over the next few weeks.
M.B.A. Division 2
Blackwood stay top after beating Newbridge and Bedwellty had a much needed win over Abergavenny at the other end. Not heard from Caldicot or Abertillery.
M.B.A. Division 3
A midweek win over Six Bells and four points yesterday at Pontypool see Brynmawr return to the top, although in form Blaina had another big win yesterday to stay within a point and a game in hand. Six Bells bounced back from that defeat to win at Blaenavon yesterday.
M.B.A. Division 4
Pontnewydd and St. Julians both won to stay one and two in the league while Llanhilleth move up to third after a good win. Pontymister Welfare also won to ease their relegation fears.
M.B.A. Division 5
Whiteheads keep winning and look like taking the division title while Newport Athletic slipped up at home to near neighbours Firbank. Ebbw Vale Welfare kept their promotion ambitions alive after beating Monmouth.
M.B.A. Division 6
Ynysddu win again and are close to clinching promotion and the title, surely one of the most improved teams this year. Pontyfelin won at Beechwood but I not heard from Gilwern or Standard.
G.B.L. Division 1
Beaufort stay top despite their game with Bedwas being cancelled, the latter appearing to be struggling to field two teams at moment. It wasn't all gloom for Beaufort though because nearest rivals Chepstow failed to get any points at Crickhowell. Abercarn and Caldicot also won but I not heard from RTB or Pontymister Athletic.
G.B.L. Division 2
Newbridge and Croesyceiliog both won to stay one and two in this division.
