Monmouthshire Round Up - 5th May


MBA Division 1

Machen continued their impressive start to the season with a 12 - 2 win against neighbours Bedwas & Trethomas to stay top after two games. Beaufort are also 2 out of 2 but a late fight back by Crosskeys who almost took the spoils with the game decided on the last bowl 6-8. Business as usual for RTB who returned to winning ways with 14 at Pontymister to move up to third and Chepstow brought Cwmbran back to earth winning 12-2 away.


MBA Division 2

Abertillery and Blackwood both recorded their second 12 pointers to sit one and two in the league with Abergavenny also recording their second win in third. Bedwellty Park recorded their first win to move into fifth just behind a Rhymney Gwent.


MBA Division 3

Early pace makers are Blaina with 24 points and Brynmawr also have two from two with 22 points. Blaenavon, Six Bells, Pontypool Park Girlings and New Tredegar are the chasing pack with one from two. Caerleon and Rhymney Royal are still looking for their first win.


MBA Division 4

Llanhilleth lead with Llanwern also unbeaten right behind them, Pontnewydd lead the chasing group after an impressive 14 points followed by Oakdale, Pontymister Welfare and St. Julian's. Panteg House and Abercarn still looking for a win.


MBA Division 5

Only one result in for this division so I have Whiteheads top with two out of two.


MBA Division 6

Ynysddu maintain their very impressive start with a second 14 pointer and they are chased by Gilwern and Beechwood who are also two from two.


GBL Division 1

Beaufort and Chepstow are the early pacemakers with 3/3 followed by Bedwas.


GBL Division 2

Newbridge are the only unbeaten team here with 4/4 followed by Croesyceiliog and Bedwellty.



We now have a break from MBA leagues as all clubs focus on the WBA Carruthers Shield, good luck to all MBA teams, let's try and get that shield back in Monmouthshire.
